Wacker Neuson’s Trowel Challenge® returned to the 2018 World of Concrete, January 23-27 in Las Vegas and continued its tradition as an exciting and tightly-matched competition. Over 100 operators from around the world competed on the reconfigured course that required operators to show off their precision operating skills, as well as speed, when they navigated tight turns through the 1,750 square foot course.
Wacker Neuson and our dealer, AGF Machinery, LLC, Dothan, AL raised over $111,000 for the local veteran’s charity, the Fisher House Wisconsin. During its annual Dealer Summit held in Milwaukee in October, Wacker Neuson auctioned off a special stars and striped wrapped compact track loader. Over 70 dealerships were able to participate in the live auction and thanks to the generous bidding of many of the dealers, the ST31 track loader was won by AGF Machinery.
Wacker Neuson is backing its excavator line with a special 5-year extended warranty plan. All excavator models are eligible for a 5-year/5,000 hour (whichever comes first) warranty for the power train and hydraulics. The coverage includes a 2-year/2,000 hour manufacturer standard base warranty plus an additional 3-years or up to 5,000 hours for the powertrain and hydraulics.
In 1967, the Wacker organization opened its Canadian affiliate company in Mississauga, Ontario; the 10th affiliate to open in as many years. Market acceptance of Wacker’s innovative soil compaction and concrete consolidation products grew quickly from its first introduction to the North American market in the late 1950s in the United States. The family-owned Wacker Construction Equipment based out of Munich, Germany recognized the potential of the Canadian construction market and opened the new business in April 1967 outside of Toronto. The merger between Wacker Construction Equipment AG and Neuson Kramer Baumaschinen in 2007 (10 years ago) created a new Wacker Neuson brand along with one of the largest equipment portfolios in the world.
To celebrate 50 years as an exhibitor at The Rental Show, Wacker Neuson gave away eight cut off saws and four rammers during the course of the show in Orlando, February 27-March 1, 2017. As dealers placed orders at the show, their name was entered into the drawing.
The Wacker Neuson Group is planning to open a new plant near Shanghai in China. Initially compact excavators will be produced for the local market, further products will follow. It is planned that the first compact excavator should roll off the production line at the beginning of 2018.
In April, work will begin on the expansion of Wacker Neuson’s light equipment production site in Reichertshofen. The company will be investing around EUR 10 million in a new R&D center for light equipment between now and the start of 2017.
Sightseeing, business and even a little romance were among the highlights of a recent Wacker Neuson dealer trip to Europe. Five contracted dealerships were represented on a week-long trip to Germany and Austria. Timing of the trip coincided with the Bauma trade show in mid-April.
